Art-A-Whirl Weekend!

Friday | Saturday | Sunday

May 15th-17th

at HUM and beyond!

Friday, May 15th (5:30-7pm) + Saturday, May 16th (11:30-1pm) Make Your Own Sun Prints | Free!

Explore the cyanotype process, an early photographic technique that uses sunlight to create bold blue and white prints with stencils and found objects. Bring items you’d like to print or collect natural materials outside to use in your design. This is an open studio-style activity, so feel free to pop in as you’d like. Violet Wine’s Friday tasting next door would make this extra fun! Free to attend! Registration appreciated.

Sunday, May 17th | Brunch & Bubbles (11:30-1pm)

Join us after the 10:30am yoga class as we wrap up the Art-A-Whirl weekend. We’ll have light bites from Buttered Tin and bubbles from our neighbors at Violet Wine. Free to attend! Registration appreciated.

We love being an entry point and a place to start your AAW adventures every year. Join us for any or all events this special weekend— we look forward to seeing you!

Art-A-Whirl is the largest open studio tour in the United States, held each spring in Northeast Minneapolis. During this vibrant, three day event, hundreds of local artists open their studios to the public, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their creative process. Visitors can explore galleries, meet artists, purchase original artwork, and enjoy live music, food trucks, and interactive activities throughout the neighborhood. It’s a celebration of creativity and community that draws thousands each year.

Upcoming

Restorative Yoga + Massage

This offering is part of a quarterly series, and you are welcome to sign up for a single session or reserve your spot for multiple sessions in advance:

Sunday | 7/19/26 5:30-7:30pm at HUM

$50 or $45 for HUM members

Our popular Restorative Yoga + Massage evenings are back on a quarterly basis! Join us for an evening of Restorative Yoga, nourishing touch, and divine relaxation. Sarah Walker is a Certified Massage Therapist and Yoga Instructor based in the Twin Cities and will guide you through a dreamy and supportive restorative practice while offering massage and hands-on adjustments while you are in the postures.

Restorative postures will be held for 10-20 minutes with invitations of support from yoga props. This will be a quiet and still practice with music, meant to deeply relax the body, mind, and spirit. Massage will be done in postures intuitively for each person to allow for deep release and restoration. Some places that may be targeted are the neck, shoulders, back, hips, hands, and feet. We welcome you to some deep care.

Space is limited to 10 people so please register in advance to reserve your spot. All levels are welcome.

Our events are thoughtfully prepared and led by passionate facilitators. To respect their time and commitment, tickets are non-refundable.

We’re always looking for ways to collaborate with our community. Fill out the form below to share your workshop or event idea and learn more about partnering with HUM!
